You should be ashamed

Postby bhall1000 » Thu May 22, 2008 7:52 pm

This product is not ready for commercial release. It isn't even right to call this release 3.0. How do you sleep at night knowing that you are charging money for something that isn't even close to feature complete and has so many issues?

I am a software developer with over 10 years in the business and I would be absolutely embarrassed to be associated with this product.

You should seriously consider refunding everyone who has given you money for this 'product'. The negative publicity you are going to receive from releasing too early has the potential to kill your company. Shortsightedness in business is something that has killed countless companies in the past.

I am not having many problems with PT3, and am happy with my purchase

On a side note they do give u a copt of pt2 and HUD because they know it's a work in process, and they offered a trial period and recommended that before someone purchases to use the trial period.

all in all i'm happy with my purchase

Come on guys, give them a break.

Sure, I have to agree that PT3 is not ready yet. They obviously under estimated the scope of the product but did not want to postpone on a promised release date. If you already own PT2, you really should not purchase PT3 yet. You have 2 months of free demo use so take advantage of it and maybe help with constructive criticism. If you don't have PT2, go ahead and purchase it since it comes along with a free PT2 license. If you ask me, that's a great deal.

It's not like you didn't know what you were buying. It was out as Beta for a while and is available now for demo so you could have tried it out before you bought.

Currently, i dont really have big problems with PT3 except that they should put memory scanner feature back ASAP for my table selection though.

My poker tracker 3 crashes multiple times during a session when playing on stars.
Bring out the patches ASAP to fix please.
Also autorate players after the crash fixing patch.
Thanks.

If PT2 is any guide, they'll keep working to iron out the bugs with PT3 until it's a great product. For now, there's no reason to belittle their efforts. But I do agree, it's not a good product right now and I'll be using PT2 until it is.

This is the way things are with MOST of the people who purchased PT3. There is a very vocal minority who are experiencing problems (most of which were unknown at the time build 1 was released). We are working extremely hard to resolve these problems.

I've had a few crashes. I've noticed a few bugs. I think a lot of people just live by the code of the "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" so people try to vocalize to the extremity to get things done. sometimes it works sometimes its just annoying.

in this case they have been putting out a build a week for quite some time now and it seems they are working very hard and its not like we are all going weeks or even days without responses from support.

they hired extra people just to make sure every thread on here is replied to. Honestly how could anybody expect more. over the YEARS i've used pt2 and pahud if I ever had a problem I was emailed back immediately by either company pt or pahud.

people saying things were released too early has kind of become a generic response. every software company in the world releases things "too early" by somebodys standards. there will always be things wrong that need fixed and a lot of bugs don't even come to light until some kind of retail release. It is really impossible to find everything duing a beta test. Almost every major software company includes patching programs or update notices with their software now days for just that reason. see adobe, see microsoft, see apple. and those are companies with near unlimited resources you would think could get things right the first time. the facts are its impossible though.

Some things actually do get released for reasons other than it is 100% done also. We live in a world where people have to pay their rent and bills some how and when you have competition you have to do what you think is right for your business at the end of the day. This isn't some personal attack on their customers but really some people have to get paid for their time or they won't be able to keep doing what they are doing. These guys have already put a considerable amount of work in and its not too much to ask for them to be able to make a few dollars while they continue making it more amazing than it already is.

so chill with the drama and make some constructive posts instead.

I am happy with my pt3 purchase and it has been a pleasure dealing with these companies over the years and I see no reason why that would change in the years to come.

keep up the hard work!

That's a little misleading. It's not only that the software is riddled with bugs, but that it lacks basic functions of PT2. Although some bugs are to be expected, there is no legitimate reason to release a new version of a product thats lacks a number of important features that were in the previous version.
