Everyone is force to use it (PT), or they loose edge against other grinders who do.
PT is making sure that every fish is found and that he is crushed and that he will often not return to the poker community again.

Had sites been only allowing 1-table:ing, no PT or HUD, for intelligent and hard-working with talent poker would be a viable option to make your living on for the rest of their lives.

Instead people who can do nothing but follow guidelines and have no imagination, heart etc. competes with them and take away part of their profit.
Making the "good fish" (which the typical PT user would be qithout software) a "shark" is a bad financial move.
In 5-10 years the Internet Poker comminity will be dead. All that will be happening is people passing blinds to each others.

Another concern is multitabling and how it promotes cheating and bots.

The world would be so wonderful with software disallowed and only one table. The good could blossom.
Why be so short-sighted?

The players are loosing money from it. The casinos are. PT is making money. The ones selling equipment for the gold rush that is soon over.

People have been saying this for years and the poker economy is still strong and the games are still beatable. Sure, the level of play has improved therefore you need to be even better but they are still profitable.

Exactly you said it yourself. The games are getting tougher and tougher and the possible winrate lower and lower.

Sigh. Wake up to reality. This is the case in all sports as well, you have an edge if you buy good golf clubs for instance. You get an edge by using Poker Tracker towards the people that doesn't use it (if you use it correctly), and that does make the games tougher, however I think the games would be getting tougher without PokerTracker on the market as well. Anyway, it's silly to have a go at it because of that and to say that it shouldn't exist. Have a go at everything else in the world where you get an edge by having better equpiment as well.

It's absurd to think PokerTracker is making the games more difficult. We're not the culprit, since we have such a tiny fraction of a percentage of all poker players as customers. The real problem is that people are learning in mass numbers that poker is a game that can be beat. You have droves of intelligent college students realizing that they can make more money with less work by playing poker. They buy up the books and learn to play solid poker. Yes, a lot of them use software, but there were multi-tabling sharks well before PT and HUDs became popular.

I suspect you are frustrated that you are not very successful and are simply trying to lay blame somewhere other than your own door step.

Welcome to the real world: survival of the fittest. Plenty of people are making very good money today so you must be doing something wrong. If you are not good enough at poker or simply dont want to work hard enough at it, thats your problem. Find something you are good at or that you do like enough to work hard at. And since when did poker owe you a "living on for the rest of their lives" anyway?

Stop trying to blame others for your own failings.

Sounds like a great marketing piece.

In reality PT helps players make reads when playing more tables than would be reasonable without some HU stats.

On the other hand those players are easier to outplay when you only play a couple tables. They are interested in volume and making correct decisions and overly conerned about whether you are bluffing them.

The beauty is those multi-tabling with PT have a lower win-rate per table but a higher overall win rate.

Those with or without PT that want to play a creative game on a couple tables can also do so even exploiting those PT multi-tablers.

So based on my ingenious analysis PT is saving the online poker community. The serious grinders can have a higher hourly win rate at the expense of per table win rate and the serious poker "artist" can exploit these players by sitting at one or two tables and closely watching their tendencies. All while both prey on the recreational fish and those fish who refuse to acknowledge they lose and keep redoposing (cause this time is their time to shine!).

And the recreational fish who make far more money out of poker than in poker are more than happy to, and will continue to, play losing 2 PTBB/100 for eternity.

So thank you PT for saving the online poker community and creating an environment where the grinders and the "artists" can both thrive.
