How to convert/import PT2 database?

Probably a pretty simple question, but when I tried converting my old database it said there were no hand histories?

If you don't import into PT2 saving the hand histories, they aren't saved in your database. If they aren't in your database, PT3 has nothing to parse from.

Can you explain exactly what you mean by this? I have been searching the forums for some input on converting my PT2 database into my PT3. It is possible to start using PT3 with all of the hands that I currently have in my PT2? I think this question/thread is worthy or being stickied. Every time I talk to someone about using the new PT3 they all have the same question...will I be able to still have all of my old stats/hands converted from my old PT? I don't know the answer, but I am worried I won't be able to. If it is possible can you post a walk through showing what exactly you have to do?

Hi ... I was also searching the forums for the same info... I know I saw it somewhere... but anyways... I ended up simply starting up PT3 and directing the import options to where I keep all my processed hands after PT2 was done with them... 100,000 or so. It took a while but the import was 100% with no errors

Yes, any hand in PokerTracker 2 will be able to be converted to PokerTracker 3. Currently PT3 can only convert PostgreSQL databases where the hand histories are being saved into the database. I highly recommend that, if you are not already saving your hand histories into the database (by default PT2 does this for played hands and does not do this for observed hands) that you begin saving these.

We will eventually add an option to convert Access databases and hopefully, hands where you did not save the hand history. The problem with not saving the hand history is that only the old stats (which are available in PT2) would then be available in PT3. You would not have access to the array of new stats that we are offering.

I suggest reading through the [url=http://www.pokertracker3.com/products/PT3/docs/59s]Database Management & Maintenance Guide[/url59s] which explains the PT2->PT3 conversion process. If you have specific questions after going through the guide, please let me know and I will try to clarify.
