HUD STILL causes horrible lag on Stars

i''m having the exact same lag problems and I just built a new setup here it is

intel quad core 2.66 ghz processor
evga 750i mobo
ocz 2gb ram
3850 vid card
O.S. XP (no not vista)

I get very very bad lag at around 9 tables and before this I would typically play 17-21 tables of FR on stars with zero lag (pt2 and pahud) WTF is going on here. I bought this comp for several reasons, but one of them was to use PT3, I feel very gypped testing software that was touted to be better than pt2, yet seems much worse (similar to XP and Vista).

agreeed the hud is a memory resource hog


infact its causes so much lag at 8+ tables i cannot use it and just import the files....


i have also tried giving pokertacker and pokerstars high priority over all the other tasks, aim, itunes, etc even giving those programs lower priority

to no avail

im running a 1 gig pc2700 2 ghz processor with a 256 meg video card that has played more intense games online than this simple program : cod4, battlefield 1942...i think they need to look at how the hud is being processed in the memory

PT3 beta 13, postgres 8.3 - 8 tables of HUD and PT process @ around 37MB occupancy...

all the stats are there, no lag, table-switches fine; even a few other apps running.

so i don't how you can jump to the conclusion it's a memory hog...

btw, this is 32bit vista on a turion dual core with 2GB and a 5400RPM UDM5 spindle...

because susan my 12+ years working with computers + my college degree lets me say that

amazing how when i turn the hud off the problem instantly goes away and im able to switch back and forth w/out problems

but the moment the hud is on i hear the alert sound on stars before i see the buttons for the table, and this is with 1! table..

i have no doubt that'll get it fixed

I just made my layout like susans and the problem ISNT as bad now , slightly touchy but a 100% improvement, im at 4 tables now and its working OK

lol amazing how your 12+ years and your degree knows more about applications & virtual operating systems and how their memory managment works, even though there's a screen-grab in your face that contradicts your sweeping statement....

so we're getting somewhere now then - it sounds like it's something to do with your customised hud layout then?

so are you saying if you simplify the stats you are displaying the performance gets better?

post up a screen-grab from your system of the memory occupancies when your customised hud is lagging...

what have you got the hud refresh rates at?

Did you keep a copy of your layouts.pt3 file before changing the layout, when it was causing lag?
If so, please attach it to the Support system , and link to this thread.
