Auto import for PartyPoker misses seats!

Postby Guest » Wed Aug 13, 2008 12:12 pm

I don't know if this is a known issue, but the auto import of PT3 beta 15 sometimes, and I suspect but have not confirmed quite often, fails to import all seats in a tourney hand history.

Example:
***** Hand History for Game 7295369002 *****
<snip>
Seat 8 is the button
Total number of players : 10
Seat 2: xx_ANDRIK_xx ( 1,470 )
Seat 3: Omo_Schan ( 5,200 )
Seat 4: TopManager83 ( 6,210 )
Seat 5: biscs ( 4,620 )
Seat 6: kingof_leon ( 1,810 )
Seat 7: Waitzi ( 2,560 )
Seat 8: DollarVince ( 1,850 )
Seat 9: tascha2004 ( 2,700 )
Seat 10: <me> ( 2,300 )
Seat 1: dylanrb26 ( 3,190 )
<snip>

This is what is recorded in the database as the hand history, and this is correct when compared to the real HH on the drive.

But now check how many are recorded in the database tables:
PT3 DB=# select id_hand, id_tourney, cnt_players from tourney_holdem_hand_summary where hand_no=7295369002;
id_hand | id_tourney | cnt_players
---------+------------+-------------
63162 | 682 | 9
(1 row)

9 players only? Who then?
PT3 DB=# select thhpd.id_hand, thhpd.id_player, thhpd.seat, p.player_name from tourney_holdem_hand_player_detail thhpd, player p where thhpd.id_hand=63162 and thhpd.id_player = p.id_player;
id_hand | id_player | seat | player_name
---------+-----------+------+--------------
63162 | 1 | 10 | <me>
63162 | 15807 | 9 | tascha2004
63162 | 27790 | 8 | DollarVince
63162 | 27789 | 7 | Waitzi
63162 | 27788 | 6 | kingof_leon
63162 | 27806 | 5 | biscs
63162 | 27786 | 4 | TopManager83
63162 | 27785 | 3 | Omo_Schan
63162 | 27805 | 2 | xx_ANDRIK_xx
(9 rows)

So somehow the parser forgot to import seat number 1. It's like it stopped after the 9th player, did it perhaps think this was a PokerStars tourney?

I see this behaviour quite a lot now that I know what to look for. And it's not just limited to tables where there are 10 players. I found it also happening at SNG's at PP where already 4 players are terminated and then suddenly the parser starts having troubles with the last seat in the list.

Is this a known issue? And can it perhaps explain the "negative line index" errors I get all the time? If I check the log of auto-import I do find this:
2008/08/13 17:40:46: PartyGaming: Hand Imported (#7295369002)
2008/08/13 17:40:47: Trying to access a negative index(Line #488)
2008/08/13 17:40:47: Trying to access a negative index(Line #499)
2008/08/13 17:40:48: Trying to access a negative index(Line #641)
2008/08/13 17:40:48: Trying to access a negative index(Line #631)
2008/08/13 17:40:49: Trying to access a negative index(Line #649)

Anyway, I'll upload this HH to the support system, you can run it through the test systems.

Thanks.

My first thought reading that was that maybe someone had just joined the table and wasn't dealt in, but if you have hands like that in SNGs too, then that can't be the case.
Party's hand history files are a bit inconsistant, sometimes actions are in the wrong order for instance, and the information isn't always complete, so it can be hard to tie it down.
Maybe it's because seat 1 is listed last..
Anyway, thanks for creating the ticket - someone will investigate.

I have not found examples yet of histories being incorrect in recording the action. However I do find examples in PT3's database of the auto import parser missing lines, such as a raise right after the line showing my hole cards. This leads to the error "invalid pot size/winnings", case with example already created.

And in my particular example the player was already seated before and even won some:
dylanrb26 does not show cards.
dylanrb26 wins 2,880 chips
Game #7295366959 starts.

Anyway, case is created and I hope that it will be fixed in the next release :)
