I had to reformat my hard disc, so i saved the Poker Tracker 2 folder (from the program files) to a backup disc.

When i went to open it after reinstalling, i get a message saying that the database and doesn''t match the product ID

So, is there a way to import the hand histories into PT3 without exporting them from PT2, or how do i register PT2 again ?

Thanks

No, PT3 can't use PT2's databases directly, you will need to re-install PT2 and link to the existing databases and then 'Export Hand Histories to File'.
I'm not sure that you'll need to re-register PT2 since you don't need to import any hands, but if you do, create a ticket on the Support system and give your new Product ID from the Help->About window.

Thanks, but what's the support system ?

I can't even open up the old program to even try and export the files, and when i use the re-installed version it doesn't let you load a database unless you register.

The support system (follow the link) is where you can create tickets and attach files so that we can troubleshoot your issues and fix them. Create a ticket under the PT2 category and pat will help you out with this.
