unable to login error

Postby billzfan86 » Wed Aug 20, 2008 4:28 pm

I get this error when I try to import hands.

Fatal Exception during Auto-Import process: Unable to login to database (PT3_2008_05_27_225134). Reason: server closed the connection unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request.

i tried deleting the pid file and restarting services but the error still occurs and when I click start and stop services a black box pops up for less then a second and says system 5 error or something like that

also i dont know if it matters but I have a vista but my computer has been working with this databse for over 300k in hands and this problem just showed up randomly after a restart today

After you try to start the service, can you see any postgres processes in the Task Manager / Processes?

I dont know if this is a coincidence but my PT started doing the exact same thing last night without any warning or problems before. After a session I was checking my PT and this error kept popping up. It would go after a couple refreshes but always reappear within a minute. Also it looks like its started importing play money SnGs which is confusing it mightily.

Have you tried restarting the postgres service, or rebooting?

Play money hands should not be imported, please attach the hand history file for one of these to the Support system so that we can get this fixed.

Well stopping the program, deleting the postmaster.pid file and restarting again seems to have cleared up the problem for me. Still got playmoney HHs so ill work on that . Thanks white.

That could be a firewall issue if it is blocking port 5432 - try disabling your firewall temporarily and start the service.
