HUD stats disapear, crash, resource hog, postgres not clsoe

Postby kwatson7 » Sun Aug 24, 2008 3:56 pm

Four separate issues. I am using beta 15. Have AMD 2GHz processor for laptop and 1.5GB of RAM.

1. My Hud stats will randomly disappear for a few minutes.
2. Pokertracker 3 will randomly crash outright or a Windows error will appear, and then I must close PT3. And often, PT3 will close, but the process is still open in the task manager and I have to manually end the process.
3. PT3 is a massive cpu hog, especially if I try to open another program at the same time, my computer often freezes for about 30 seconds. This only happens when auto-import is running or has been running (my computer is slow until I close pt3 outright after i have been running an auto-import)
4. When I close PT3, I still have many instances of potgres open and must manually end the processes if I want them closed.

Thanks

Please enable logging (Configure -> Options -> Logging enabled), reproduce these issues and then shut down PT3 and attach the PokerTracker.log file and PokerTrackerHUD.log file found at C:/Program Files/PokerTracker 3, (not in the logs sub-directory), to this support ticket. The fourth thing you mentioned however, is fully normal. That's how PostgreSQL works, and it should take nearly no CPU or memory resources.

Try some performance tweaking.
Get Beta 15 (if you haven't already) and enable 'enhance HUD performance' on HUD Options.
Download and install PT3.
Please read the Beta 15 release notes first.
Have a look at:
Performance Tuning: Hard Drives
Performance Tuning PostgreSQL.
Also use the Database menu to cluster, vacuum, analyse your database.

4. As Peli says, this is how postgres works - if you want to stop the postgres service, Start -> Programs -> PostgreSQL -> Stop Service.

Well I attempted to send you the log files, but apparently in PMs on the forums, when I try to attach a file, it says the extension "log" is not allowed. I changed it to a myriad of different extensions and each one says is not allowed. So apparently the PT3 forum website works just as well as the PT3 program
