Amt_SB and Amt_BB giving incorrect blind info

Postby shalder » Fri Aug 29, 2008 6:28 am

Amt_SB and Amt_BB are not giving correct blind info.
For instance, on 3/6 limit on stars they are giving me $3 and $6 when the blinds are actually $1 and $3.

I realize these are big bets / small bets, but the documentation says these should be giving info on the blinds,
and they are even located in the cash game blind info folder.

Anyways, are there other variables i can use to get blind info? I didn't see any.
Are these variables going to get tweaked in an upcoming patch? Just helps me plan ahead for the functions i'm attempting to write.

You are using holdem_limit.amt_bb, are you?
I've just set up a quick test and agree that this is showing the Big Bet amount, not the big blind amount.
Please create a ticket about this on the Support system , and link to this thread in the reference field of the ticket.
I wonder if the idea is to use the holdem_limit.val_nlpl_mult to generate the actual value, but then the names are misleading..

You can find out how much the player paid in blinds using:
holdem_hand_player_detail.amt_blind
but that doesn't tell you the blind amount of the hand or limit.

Which section is your stat in, what are you trying to do?

ok i sent it to support...

its useful b/c u can then filter hands by the structure 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 blind structure.

Also, and more importantly, as of now there isn't really a way to count the number of callers after an opponent has raised.
Once u know the exact amount in the blinds, u can use amt.raise.facing as percent of current of pot to determine exactly how many callers are in the hand, when its u'r turn.
Sure u could look ahead to the next betting round (the flop) and count the number of players that make it to the flop - but if u 3 bet and/or original raiser caps, u'll see a fair number of folds.

I was writing a report to try to figure out if i was better off betting 3 betting my strong hands in a heads up situation (one raiser, me in blind), or just calling planning to checkraise most flops.
Problem was the count players on flop = 2 often included hands where i 3 bet and succeeded in causing another player to fold preflop.
I already know 3 betting strong hands multiway is good, i was just trying to check for headsup.

Yes, I agree about needing info about number of callers - I came across this myself a while ago when I was try to build a stat, and put in a request for info about callers. Feel free to post in the 'Feature Requests' forum, or create a ticket, if you want to back me up..
