Using 2 computers

Postby KingKong 5 » Thu Sep 04, 2008 12:48 pm

Hi,

I play on 2 different computers and use on both PT3.
How can I do transfer all hands and stat from a computer to another, so I could get on one of my computer the full hand history and stats of all the hands I played on both computers ?
What files must I cut/paste ?

Thanks for ur help and sorry for my english.

The easiest way to transfer your hands is to use Database -> Database Management window to Export them to files, and then copy them to the other computer and import them. (unless you still have all the original HH files, of course - then you can just copy those across from the 'processed' folder.)

To copy your stats across, select each one and click Export, then on the other computer use the Import button.

To copy your layout across, copy the file:
c:\program files\pokertracker 3\data\layouts.pt3

Thanks for your quick reply.

If I get it, there's 3 things to transfer :
-hands
-stats
-layout

1°) Why can't PT3 automaticly calculate my stats if I tranfer him my hands ?
2°) What's the "Layout" ?
3°) If I copy the file u gave me for the layout, won't I cruch the other one I have on the other computer when I paste it ?

I'm not a computer genius as u figured, and want to be sure I got everything right before doing the transfer. I don't want to lose or overwrite my hands.

Thanks again for ur help.

When WhiteRider said Stats he meant custom statistics you built using the custom statistics interface (Configure --> Statistics). If you haven't made any custom statistics you don't have to move any stats over. (This doesn't move your actual information like VPIP of 22, but the rubric for making a stat, like "Call 3-bet PF, fold to cbet").

The Layouts.pt3 file contains your HUD layout and if you have customized your HUD at all you'll want to move that file over. It will overwrite the one on the other computer, but the one on the other computer after installing will just be a new default layout and you can always get the default layout back by moving Layouts.pt3 to somewhere else.

You do need to transfer all of the hands and reimport them, though.

Thanks to both of you for ur help.

Have a last question :

in fact, found I guess the original hh in the processed files :
I have no problem transfering the files of the table I played (document txt)--> have no similar files on the 2 computers
but they are also files TMP as "LHS1B.tmp" that I have on both computers.
--> What are those files ?
--> Do I overwrite them ?

Many thanks.

--> Added later :

As I found files in the processed folder, have done as told me and just copy them throw processed folder.
I then launched an auto-import and was expecting the hands to be added to my stats and graph.
But nothing seems to be added and my number of hands is still the same and graph as not change.

Did I miss a step ?

Those .tmp files are observed hands from Full Tilt, and can be copied/imported just the same as the .txt files, but you don't *need* them because they won't have data about you in them.

The best thing to do is a Manual Import from directory - point it at the folder full of files you copied from the other computer.
