Command line equivalents for housekeeping?

Postby msbuss » Wed Sep 24, 2008 11:41 am

If I wanted to do housekeeping manually via the command line, what would be the commands I'd use? I know how to vacuum and cluster, but not sure what the commands are for analyzing and updating the cache.

Thanks.

PT3 does a different cluster than what PostgreSQL does. It's a series of SQL commands. They are logged when it runs, so you can view them. Analyzing is simply "ANALYZE;" and updating the cache is way more involved then just a SQL command and cannot be done through a command line.

Obvious question: what's the log filename?

See this link: enable logging.
The info you want will be in the pokertracker.log file which is produced.
