Is there a reason why the program takes a good couple of minutes to "load up" before I can actually start using it?

Do you have a large database?
Have you run the housekeeping functions on it?
Do you have a fast computer, decent hard disk with plenty of free space?

Yeah my db is fairly big (almost 6800 tourneys). I run the housekeeping function at least once a week and my laptop is about 5 months old (2GB RAM and a good 80-90GB disk space). My laptop defragments automatically once a week and I run regular virus scans and disk cleanups etc. (I like things neat and tidy!).

Where does it take the time? Is it on the splash screen. or while showing the first report?

Please enable logging, reproduce the problem and submit your PokerTracker.log file to the Support system , and link to this thread in the reference field of the ticket so that we can investigate.

When I first open it up the PT3 logo appears and then the main screen and this is where it takes the time. I can't click on anything for a good couple of minutes until I notice the "Loading..." start.

I sent the log earlier today but I found if it loads and it shows the Import tab then it's ok, it's only if it opens up on the Texas Holdem tab then it takes a while to become usable.
