Do you mean PT3 works fine on the other computer?
Yes, on the other computer it works fine
If so, then it must be some local config on that computer - do you have a firewall on each computer, or is the router doing it?
As I know, I have individual firewalls (one kaspersky firewall and 1 kaspersky trial version firewall) on my computers. I'm not aware, that I installed this new router as firewall and my kaspersky firewalls work normal, but I could check this with my provider ...
Compare your "pg_hba.conf" files on the 2 computers and see if you can find the difference (make a backup copy of them both before you change anything!). This file will be in the "C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data" folder.
I found a difference in th two "pg_hba.conf" files.
In the first one (Version SQL 8.2) which runs well, it says:
# METHOD can be "trust", "reject", "md5", "crypt", "password",
# "krb5", "ident", "pam" or "ldap".
In the second one (Version SQL 8.3) which doesn't give me access with the new router (but gives me with old one, which I connect through USB) well, it says:
# METHOD can be "trust", "reject", "md5", "crypt", "password", "gss", "sspi",
# "krb5", "ident", "pam" or "ldap".
Both files end identically like this:
# TYPE DATABASE USER CIDR-ADDRESS METHOD
# IPv4 local connections:
host all all 127.0.0.1/32 md5
# IPv6 local connections:
#host all all ::1/128 md5
Any idea?
Again thanks for your help
