Why did you release PT3 if it keeps crashing

Postby BeastFromTheEast » Tue Jun 10, 2008 11:34 am

I've had PT3 crash on me more times than I can count. For a product that cost $90, I'm very disappointed, Largely because I think PT2 w/PAHUD was more user friendly and more reliable. I read the fix is to play less tables? Where is the patch to fix this stuff? Playing less tables is costing me money and is still freezing and crashing FTP. Also, I'm losing money because your program won't display my stats (i need to know if players are likely reacting to me), it just keeps disappearing and then showing up once every 75h's for one or two hands than disappears again. This program freezes, crashes, and/or crashes the site I'm playing at.

The HUD configuration is a huge hassle to configure. Can I even save multiple layouts? This is unacceptable, why did you release this product if it doesn't work properly? I'm a huge fan of PT2 and PAHUD but, unfortunately your new product leaves me wishing I bought Holdem Manager instead or at the very least kept using PT2. When can I expect a fix for this? I can maybe live with the tedious work of setting up the HUD but, the freezing, my stats missing, or crashing is unacceptable.

What gives? I don't want to ask for a refund and buy something else but, I feel you're leaving me little choice. When, if ever, do you think this program will ever function like PT2? I could have max tables opened on FTP with PT2, stats on all of them with no problem. If I do this with PT3 i get lag, freezing, ect. Sorry, if this sounds like a bad rant but, this cost me a lot of money to purchase and is actually costing me money by working improperly now.

I think you've had exceptional customer service in the past and hope you show me you still do by fixing these issues and giving me the product as advertised.

YOU USE POKER TRACKER AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSS DUE TO THIS PROGRAM. USE OF THIS PROGRAM IMPLIES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS.

If you do play poker, 90$ should'nt affect you very much. For my part, i just bought it, found a few bugs, and i will keep using Poker Tracker 2 until its all set and ready to be fully used. No need to cry about it.

maybe if you post up the specific details of the crashes, freezes etc., we can address them if we can...

i have saved different hud layouts for different sites on the same pc with no problem.

No tears here but, I'm paying for an upgrade and the upgrade is not functioning properly. Meoansey, If you paid for an MP3 player in your car and you got a FM radio would you just say, "oh well I already bought it so, I guess thats good enough for me"? $90 isn't the issue here, the product simply does not work as good as the old yet, so I'm wondering when this happens is all.

I explained my issues in my OP but, here is a more clear description of the issues.

-Ungodly lag making it impossible at times to use any poker bet/fold, ect button (seems to happen when updating the stats to the HUD)

-My stats are hardly ever showing up on the table, they may for a while but, quickly disappear (most of the time I cannot see my stats)

-PT3 often crashes the site I'm playing on randomly or freezes so long I must force quit PT3 or even sometimes restart my PC

These are not random occurrences, they happen at least once a session. My issue is these seem like rather large problems as opposed to bugs. Also If I am advised to still use PT2/PAHUD or to play less tables why isn't this product still in testing? I would have much rather a complete product the first time then to have to transfer my data base multiple times because of the realization of bugs on a supposedly finished product.

I still don't see how to have two different HUD layouts for one site on PT3. Can I turn on and off grouping at will or do I need to reconfigure my HUD every time? I used to be able to save multiple layouts in a files and change them with ease on PT2/PAHUD, as well as exchange layouts with others; can I do that on PT3?

I swear by PT2/PAHUD I just have a hard time understanding why the PT3 is out already if it isn't done. I would not have transfered my data from PT2 if I knew this.

first use the latest beta from the site.

what size is your database? do you cluster and vacuum regularly?

what is your pc spec? including ram, hard-drive and graphics card ; defrag hard-drive?

do you have other windows apps running?

what's running in your tray? av,as?

Susan, I'm sure your intentions are good but it is a fact the program is having issues. We could post ram and pc specs all day and it doesn't take away from the fact that PT2 and ace hud run fine with 16 tables, streaming music and downloading latest hulk clips at the same time and PT3 can't handle half the tables with nothing else going... Having said that, the old school is working for me still, so I'm being patient but it would be nice to hear some estimates on when a new version will be heading our way.

Thanks.

There was a new alpha build released yesterday. We are making progress, and we do appreciate your patience as we work through these issues.

Where do you DL it? I see nothing but the beta 12 version listed on the DL page.

Alpha builds are restricted to alpha testers only.

I didn't mean to get your hopes up, only to explain that there is real progress being made and we will be getting something out as a new beta if not Build 3 in the hopefully not too distant future.
