Having problems to install PT3

Postby GreetUrDs » Sat Jun 14, 2008 3:52 pm

Hi,

As I try to install PostgreSQL on my Windows Vista, it says following:
"
ATTENTION WINDOW VISTA USERS

For this version of PostgreSQL to install properly with Windows Vista, you must be running Service Pack 1.
Download Service Pack 1
If you do not wish to install Service Pack 1, you can install an older version of PostgreSQL."

However, I am not able to download this SP1, as it is only language standalone pack, not mentioned for my version of Vista.
How can I install PostgreSQL and ultimately PT3? I run the program as an administrator. If I try to continue the installation without downloading the SP1, it says following:
"Failed to run initdb: 1!
Please see the logfile C:\----"

And as I click ok, it starst automatically uninstall, the logfile is just notepad file saying, "unable to process that same file"..

Thank you for your answers!

I guess that's the same issue mentioned here - Attn: Vista Users Installing PostgreSQL 8.3 ?

I guess you will need to install postgres 8.2(.7) then..
PT3 will work with this, but you'll need to install it manually.
