PT3 dropped HUD config > 45m working on it

The title says it all.... I just spent 45 minutes configuring the HUD popup menu, putting things in a different order, getting rid of all the annoying decimal places, etc, and looking at it on observed tables. I close some of them, open others, and the HUD popup menu "magically" reset itself. It didn't drop/reset my on-table statistics. I did NOT click on reset in the on-table button menu (although, FFS, what is it doing right there? i quickly click on another table while mutlitabling, happen to hit the button, click "around" it on the table, miss, and I've reset my HUD? really?).

In any case, is this a common occurrence? what happened? :x :evil:

can't answer for why it's doing this; but it's best to configure the hud in short bursts; saving the layout, and then checking it's ok - to be double safe, do this, then say, after 20 mins of work, copy the layouts file elsewhere, so you can restore to this state in case it screws up...

thanks. i just looked at the layouts.pt3 file, and its last modified date is 6/5/08, not 6/18/08. so apparently the file reverted back to that date. cool!

Did you actually click "Save Layout"?
As susan suggests, it is always best to save your changes preiodically whatever you are editting.
