i just clicked on to PT3 and it says there is new version...so silly me...says great....lets install...it wouldnt install...so i though, oh well i will remove PT3 and download from scratch......done that and bam.....it says whats ur password for your PROTEGE whatever thingy.....and i ook on docu's on here and enter the same password that was entered firstly...and it wont work....now im deleting everything i can find....HELP!!!!

if you were upgrading you should have chosen the version without postgres, did you?

if you've already got postgres installed, try editing pg_hba.conf, scroll to the bottom, and change any md5 encryption from md5 to trust.

Hello had the same problem some months ago, but there is an easy way to set the password control to trust, so u will never need a password again for this sucking postgresbla :evil: . But iam a pc noob so i cant tell u how to do this setting. But i believe u will find the answer in the postgresblubb forum on this site...otherwise google it. :P

Btw i think there should be more clear information and advice by the PT team how to use updates patches etc. or use this whole thing at all. Many customers dont speak english as mothertongue (like me) and dont have more interests in this computer stuff and just want to play poker (like me ). Man it is really hard to work this whole stuff out on ur own. There should be one easy clean manual simple as possible and a tutorial video for all of us (i know the stoxtrader tutorial)and i think their should be a little more support how to handle the stats and how to use em in game. And not postin 2 links and saying thats all, its up to you to interprate em. Well i know that is not ur job at all, but cant u think over and do a partner program with a strategy site or something in this direction...I know now how to use the stats in a good way but to get there it was hard too.

well i'm sure we all try to support the product as best we can; yes there is documentation on the website, yes the support forums are active; yes there are things missing in terms of support, but that's life, the real world and nothing's perfect.

i am more than willing to help people out here the best i can, either via the threads, PM and i've even used IM to help a few folk out - if i've got the time, i'l do it...

if you say something like, "I know now how to use the stats in a good way but to get there it was hard too...", then why don't you volunteer to share your knowledge and skills and compile some of these things that you feel are lacking for the benefit of the community here?

apply the model of "open-source" software, where the whole community supports itself...

it's a bit like running a special interest group, on say, flower arranging: chances are there's a dedicated few on the committee that get elected and re-elected year-on-year, that run it - then there's all the others that contribute very little, snap their fingers and expect the group to jump through hoops...
