Everest: Getting back hands that errored

Postby thePureNuts » Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:47 pm

in the 3.013 release a number of hands were not imported because of an incorrect potsize error, now that this is fixed in the new release, is there any way to get those hands back , when they error where do they go and how can i get them back into PT?

Thanks

The hand history files are moved to the folder specified on the auto-import tab, "move processed files to" option.
To re-import them you will have to do a manual import on that folder. Bear in mind, though, this could take a long time if you have a lot of files/hands there, unless you know which files the specific hands are in, then you could import just those files.

I understood you meant duplicate, but I don't know what your statement means...
Or is it a question?

It will ignore all duplicates. Just point it at your processed hand folder and wait a few minutes.

After it is done backup your hand histories. About 1 in 1,000 hands imports your winning incorrectly so you will probably have to re-import all of them in a future version. (The errors are quite small so if you aren't bothered by being +/- $1 every 1,000 hands you don't have to worry about it too much.)

Sorry I ment will it create Dups? If I point it at all my previously imported hands I was concerned it may screw up my DB.

Traix: it was more like 1 in 100 hands that were erroring for me plus if it didn't import a whole hand where stacks were exchanged you couls be off a few hundred or more per 1000 hands

I am slightly confused, when it errored on incorrect pot size doesn't it ignore the hand completely and therefore not move it into the processed hands folder, if it still moves hands that errored then I am fine I guess

Sorry about the confusion

No, it won't. It will ignore all duplicates.

I'm not talking about the bug "pot/size error bug" that has been fixed. I'm talking about a small calculation that only affects some hands. If you compare the amount won/lost between PT2 and PT3 it will be different.

No. Each file contains all of the hands you played while you were at a particular table. The whole file is moved once you stop the auto-import process even if it contains hands that were read incorrectly.
