PT3 on 2nd computer... can't find reg server?

Postby fyl2u » Mon Jul 07, 2008 9:41 pm

Am I doing something wrong?

Unable to communicate with registration server, please try again later?

Is the reg server down, or is something up with my PC/connection.

My firewall is disabled.

Are you able to try on your first computer? Does that work OK?
I'm not aware of any reg server issues for PT3 at the moment - are you still having the problem?

Yes, same problem today.

PT3 is already installed on my other computer, so I don't know how I'd go about accessing the reg server.

It used to be installed on this computer too, but postgresql was slowing down my computer so much I uninstalled it.

Now I've got postgresql running on my linux server, so I decided to reinstall PT3 without postgresql and that's when I came across this problem.

Ah, so the issue is when you are trying to register the new install of PT3?
I thought you meant it was just failing to connect at start up..

There has been a problem with the PAH reg server too, but the guys are back from the weekend away now, so hopefully it should be working again - soon if not yet...

Please try again and if it doesn't work, post the content of "c:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTracker.log" here, thanks.

I think logging should be enabled by default, but if not, open the config file <PT3 install>\Data\Config\PokerTracker.cfg, and add to the [General] section:
[General]
Logging=Y

(You may have an entry saying Logging=N, or you may not have the line at all).

I notice that the code on my Registration Codes page on this site actually says "table tracker v" not PT3 or even my previous codes for PT2 and PAHUD. Is this relevant?

There's nothing wrong with the server or we would be overrun with complaints of this. It must be something between PT3 and the server. Have you recently installed or changed any firewall or other security software on your computer? Can you read this link without any problems?
