My dell inspiron 531 has crashed and i may have to do a system restore, what will happen to pt3 and all my data?

if you are talking windows here, windows system restore/backup will not touch your data folders - if you are talking like hard-drive fail and a hard-drive restore or re-build of windows from scratch with a re-format of the drive, then you're toast unless you have a backup of your pt database and/or processed hand-histories on a separate medium.

if it's windows DO NOT re-format your hard-drive just now; there are "get-out-of-jail free" options for you here like a clone of the drive or a repair installation of windows that can preserve not only your pt database, but any other data, applications and settings you may have.
