Problem with pt3 hand export

So....i'm having some troubles with pt3 and i've decided to convert back to pt2 until pt3 is fully developed.

I then export the hands i've got in pt3. Easy enoug, and 23.5k hands are exported.

The I fire up pt2 and import the files written by pt3....not so easy. Pt2 only finds about 2.5k hands......

Any suggestions?

I assume you've checked that PT2 is importing from the correct place?
PT3 exports hands to subfolders for each site too.
How exactly are you importing into PT2?
If you import a single file does it import everything?

I've been using pt2 for several years, so I'm doing this correctly. I've tried selecting a single file and several at once. There should be about 3k hands in each file. When I exported from pt3 it exported 23.5k hands and split it up into 8 files.

When I import ONE of these files I only get about 280 hands and about 2800 error messages. They mostly look like this:

Ah - sounds like you need to update PT2 - POKERSTARS PATCH FOR MAY 9 2008 UPDATE.

well...i downloaded the pt2 software two days ago on this computer, and the site In question is not pokerstars but ongame/pokerstars....will give it a try though.

ok, tried patching but that didnt help. I've also tried to import the files into holdemmanager now and that didnt work either. Posted roughly the same question on their forum and sent one of the files to their support.

Their reply:

The problem is they have eliminated the "Showdown" section of the OnGame hand history which is always supposed to be there and includes the amounts won by each player even if there wasn't a showdown.

Seems like an easy fix but when you have to worry about how it affects non PT3 hands and all the various side pot situations it gets really cumbersome.

So are you saying that the hand histories exported from PT3 don't include the complete HH text?

If you open one of these hands in PT3 (e.g. double click it in the Hand Detail report) and view the hand history text there is it complete?

I have checked in pt2 now and only the hands that went to showdown have been successfully imported.

Which version of PT3 are you using? If it's not Beta 14, please try with that first.

Are those hand history texts what you see if you open a hand history window inside PT3, or what you see when you export from PT3?

Do you still have the original hand history files for comparison?

Please create a ticket on the Support system , and link to this thread, so that this can be fixed.
Please attach some original hand histories if you have them, along with what is stored in PT3 - zipped/compressed please.

Yes, those are the hand history texts I see when i open a hand history window inside pt3.
Yes, they still look the same after I updated to the beta 14.
PT3 automatically deletes the ongame database file when you end the autoimport, so no i don't have the original hand history files for comparison.

It seems to me like pt2 needs that section with showdown info to make a successful import. Not sure if you want me to show you what the exported pt3 file looks like but here a piece of it:
