Simple e-mail Import Question

Postby TheDean » Wed Jul 30, 2008 11:01 am

Hi all,

I have recently requested my entire collection of HH's from Pokerstars as I wish to import them into PT3. They will be sent in e-mail form to my hotmail address. How do I save them all into a readable txt file so that PT3 can read them and add them all into a new database?

Cheers,

TheDean

When you say 'no leading spaces' do you just mean that there should be no spaces before the massive block of txt starts? Also, when i copy it over from Hotmail to textpad it goes into one massive block of txt and is not spaced out nicely like it is in the e-mail.

All you need to do is strip off the header and footer lines from the email - the bit that says who it was sent to, etc.
You need to be able to save it to ANSI format - use notepad, that works fine.

I'm really struggling importing an e-mail....I have removed the 'header' and 'footer' and saved it as a .txt file in ANSI coding, but PT3 won't take it and reports an error.

It's probably only 150 hands, but it makes a big difference as i made 2 buy-ins at least and I could really know how to do this, then I can stop bugging you all! Thank you all in advance!

What does the text file look like?
Is everything on it's own line, or is it all run together? (it needs to be separate lines)
I assume it's laid out nicely in the email?

As I said, people have reported problems getting these files through hotmail. Do you have another 'real' email account you could use?
Alternatively, try opening it in Wordpad or some other editor and then save as plain text, see if that helps.
