Refining a Report

Postby PJs Ronin » Thu Feb 03, 2011 12:23 am

Here is a report (sourced from this forum and with the able assistance of kraada) that details tourney showdowns when someone was/is all-in. It has some filters to exclude "non worthwhile" results (like M < 5ish).

The line at A is acceptable. Villain had me screwed by the time we got all in so I thru my mouse across the room and started another tourney. These lines need to stay in the report.

The line at B is a different matter. These lines (and there are quite a few) appear to be where villain had been screwed in a previous hand and only had pennies left. He was all in either because of BB/SB commitments, or because he adopted the "goodbye cruel world" approach. Either way, these lines are messing with my report and I need to exclude them. In essence, I'm asking for info on what the blankness on this line means. It is definitely not zero, but what is it and how can I filter it out.

Guidance appreciated.

You could add another filter for your total amount bet being greater than a certain amount, like:

amt_bet_ttl > (amt_bb * 5)

System says that is not a valid expression.

Try:
tourney_holdem_hand_player_detail.amt_bet_ttl > (tourney_holdem_blinds.amt_bb * 5)

Thx kraada... that work well, sort of.

The problem of a blank All In EQ seems to come where there's a multi-way pot such as this:

Full Tilt - $5 + $0.50|15/30 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

Hero (BTN): 1,490.00
SB: 10.00
BB: 1,110.00
UTG: 765.00
UTG+1: 780.00
MP: 1,370.00
MP+1: 1,530.00
LP: 1,430.00
CO: 1,440.00

SB posts SB 10.00, BB posts BB 30.00 SB is committed whether he likes it or not, and prolly triggers the All In flag.

Pre Flop: (40.00) Hero has A:club: Q:spade:

fold, UTG+1 raises to 60.00, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 120.00, fold, UTG+1 calls 60.00

Flop: (280.00, 3 players) Q:diamond: A:spade: 8:club:
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets 150.00, UTG+1 raises to 660.00 and is all-in, Hero calls 510.00 Another All In

Turn: (1600.00, 3 players) 7:club:

River: (1600.00, 3 players) 6:diamond:

UTG+1 shows 8:heart: T:heart: (One Pair, Eights) (PreFlop 33%, Flop 12%, Turn 5%)
Hero shows A:club: Q:spade: (Two Pair, Aces and Queens) (PreFlop 41%, Flop 86%, Turn 95%)
SB shows 2:spade: K:heart: (High Card, Ace) (PreFlop 25%, Flop 2%, Turn 0%)
Hero wins 1,600.00

So, why does PT3 show a blank All In EQ for this line?

Can we filter out instances where the blank appears... eg, "not isblank(All In EQ)" or similar?

Since we know all of the hole cards we should see the EV for that hand, I think. If you attach the original hand history file to a ticket we'll check it out.

You can't filter for the value (or blankness) of the EV stat because they are not in the database. Hopefully we can work out why the EV is blank in that case, and see about getting it fixed.

I just installed 3.11beta and noticed that there was a 'fix' for tourney EV issues. Could this be the answer to my prayers??? So, after installing the beta I ran my EV report and glory be to the Great Kitteh (Ima cat lover) the issue of 'blank' cells has been fixed.

That's good, yes? But by nature I am a suspicious person and I'm wondering how this problem got fixed. Was it simply that a previous error trap routine needed to be modified, or is there some additional evaluation logic being applied. If the latter, can I get a precise on the logic so I can better understand what the data is telling me.

The blank cells in my report were resulting (at least in part) from a situation where there was a hero and at least 2 villains, one of whom was being forced all-in because they were in BB or SB and had insufficient chips to meet the full blind, and hero and the 2nd villain continued to bump heads post flop.

Btw, Well done guys.
