Custom Stats help

I'm looking to create some fairly complicated stats, I used to use HEM and have since swapped to PT3. I used to be able to create the stats I'm looking to use in HEM in a pretty simple manner, but it seem like my only option is to use the customize stats feature in PT3.

i am looking to create the following stats

3bet% when player is BTN

3bet vs CO when out of position (oop)
3bet vs.HJ oop
3bet vs.UTG oop

3bet vs. CO when in pos
3bet vs. HJ when in pos
3bet vs. UTG when in pos

I have tried to do something along the lines of this:
(cnt_p_3bet_btn / (cnt_p_btn_3bet+cnt_p_btn_fold+cnt_p_btn_call)) * 100
for the 3bet% on the button, but it doesn't seem to work at all, it says its not validated.
I'm probably just a huge noob, but I guess that's what the forum is for.

First, statistics for raises vs specific positions cannot be created precisely due to the structure of the database at this point in time. The database currently only stores the location of the last non-hero preflop raiser. As such, if HJ opens, hero folds on the button and the BB re-raises, PT3 won't be able to figure out that you were on the button facing a hijack open. These situations are common enough that they will skew the dataset considerably leading to inconsistent statistics. Suggestions have been made to rectify this particular issue, though I don't yet have all of the details as to when they will be implemented.

Also, you should probably read through the Tutorial: Using Custom Statistics and Reports - it explains a lot about custom statistics and you'll see why your stat didn't work - you hadn't defined the columns you were trying to reference. (This is true regardless of the details in the first paragraph, also.)

Ok, that causes me some trouble, but for now can you help me create the 3BET% for when player is on the button?

you say that I need to define the "cnt_p_3bet_btn" section, how? I don't understand the syntax.
I can see what you mean in the columns tab though.

cnt_p_3bet_button would be defined as: sum(if[holdem_hand_player_statistics.position = 0 and holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_3bet, 1, 0])

It's the sum of times where a player was in position 0 (on the button) and 3-bet preflop.

ok I am beginning to understand this all.
Can you confirm that it is possible then to at least create custom stats for, 3BETpre and Fold to PF 3bet for all positions (0-5)?

I have created the button 3bet% as follows:
(cnt_p_3bet_btn / (cnt_p_3bet_btn+cnt_p_fold_btn+cnt_p_ccall_btn)) * 100
and defined the columns correctly, it says everything is validated but will this create the correct statistic?
my biggest fear here is that I have no way of checking that the data is correct - so I have to assume that I have created the stat correctly.
main point here is: should I be using the cold call stat? (thats what seems logical to me)

also I have created this stat but when I go to CONFIGURE HUD, i can't see my custom stat anywhere

Easier for the opportunities column would be to create:

cnt_p_3bet_opp_btn: sum(if[holdem_hand_player_statistics.position = 0 and holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_3bet_opp, 1, 0])

This adds up the opportunities you had to 3-bet and is a little more graceful than adding up the calls, raises and folds.

Once you've created the statistic, you will want to update your cache, and if the HUD was running you'll need to stop and restart auto import before you can see the statistic there.

duly noted about making a more graceful option, for now though I just want to get something working.

I cannot see the statistic at all, I have formatted the stat as /%.2f as per the tutorial.
I have updated the cache, I have restarted the program, and I still can't see the stat in the all stats column in CONFIGURE HUD

Did you remember to fill in the Format tab?

Which section did you create the stat in?
You can only use stats in the Holdem Cash Player Statistics section (or switch Holdem for Omaha, or Cash for Tournament) in the HUD.
