Colouring Stats based on "size" of stat

Postby jscobie » Wed Jul 20, 2011 9:55 am

Im setting 3 colours for my HUD stats. Green for a kind of "go for it, dont worry" stat, e.g. Fold to F CBet >75%. Orange for a "be careful" stat, e.g. Fold to Flop CBet between 50% and 75%. Then red for a watch out, e.g. Fold to Flop CBet<50%.

Thing is Im having a lot of trouble finding how I can translate this system to CBet Turn, Fold to T Cbet and Check Raise Flop. Just because somethng happens a lot, doesnt mean its good, and vice versa.

I just dont know what numbers would be defined as good, medium or bad for these stats as most literature doesnt give any values for these stats. After making a custom report and taking an average of what peoples actions were, I have got these so far:

CBet Turn: Green <35%, Orange between 35% and 55%, Red >55%
Fold to Turn CBet: Green >=43%, Orange between 33.3% and 43%, Red <=33.3%
Check Raise Flop: Green <5%, Orange between 5% and 9%, Red >9%

I am unsure what these should really be as an average will be skewed if, for instance, I have been playing a lot of hyper aggressive people or a lot of total passive fish.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

The problem here is mostly that you need to be looking at more than one stat. Turn CBet isn't ever going to give you the entire story - you need to look at other stuff too. Trying to use color on just one number to answer this kind of question really isn't going to be something I think you'll succeed at - the problem is too complex.
