Memory Scanner

Postby rabbitlover » Thu Sep 04, 2008 10:27 pm

I notice on the Documentation page for configuring PAHud with Stars it says that using Memory Scanner is the "preferred" method. I have always imported the HH from Stars, so why is Memory Scanner preferred?

Does Memory Scanner import the HH into PT2 just like the other method? There would be processed HH like I have now for backup?

It is my understanding that Memory Scanner does not show any HUD for a player unless that player already has hands loaded into a PT2 database, is that correct?

Guess I am just trying to figure out what one method has over the other.
How about resources, does Memory Scanner use more resources?

Thanks

If you look at Options -> Preferences -> PokerStars it tells you the basic issues with both.

Memory scanner does not generate (write) hand history files as this is against Stars terms & conditions - PT2 can still only import the ones that PokerStars itself writes.

PAH is only able to show stats for players which are in your PT2 databases, and these are the players that you have played hands against.
The memory scanner just allows PAH to identify who is at the table (when you are not playing) and so retrieve and display their stats.
