hand reading practice?

Postby waffe7 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 9:45 pm

Is there any way anybody has found to practice hand reading using a PT database? Want I want to do is use the replayer to practice hand reading/analysis as to what opponents have. But, I would like to be able to see what they *do* actually have after I've made a guess. Any ideas?

You can turn off the hole cards display so that it doesn't show the opponents cards in the replayer until the hand is over....if that is what you are asking about....

Yeah that'll work. But I guess what i wanted is an easy way to pick hands from the Games Notes that I can replay, but qualify that with the fact that i don't want to know if I won or lost, and they had to have gone to showdown so i can check my theories. So, kind of like Harrington on holdem problems where you have to figure out what to do, and at the end you know what the guy had. This seems easy as long as you don't see the information you don't want to see before running the replayer. Does that make any sense?

You could try opening the replayer window from the Game Notes tab and then at the lower left of the replayer window select the "Only when I WTSD" from the list. This will replay only those hands were you went to showndown and since you went in from the Game Notes tab you won't necessarily see the results first because there are going to be a lot of games listed there.
