Postby lemonhead77 » Tue Aug 05, 2008 6:03 pm

Hi,I have been trying to repair my database in the utilities section. Im doing this in response to the link you sent me the other day regarding messages popping up when using PT. when i trey to repair the database,my cursor changes to an egg timer and it saysdown the bottom of PT that it is making a back up of files but it just freezes. When i try to click on anything the border up the ttop of PT turns white and it says "not Responding"

Database Error: -1003
Error Text: SQLSTATE = S1093
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Invalid argument.
No changes made to database.
INSERT INTO hand_histories ( game_number, site_id, hand_history, import_date ) VALUES (

It's not frozen, you need to let it run, if the db is large then it takes a while to do the repair and if you are killing the program then you risk corrupting the database.

Let it finish.
As Pat said, it will take a long time.

That really depends on your PC.
I'm not familiar with database repair, so I don't know what sort of work it's doing, but something like compacting a large database can take a few hours on my old-ish PC.

The repair is being done by calling a Windows API, it's not PT doing it so I can't give you a time it would take all I know is you need to let it run. I can't believe a file of only 300MB would take that long to repair unless it may be corrupted.
