PT v2 quit working

My pokertracker stopped tracking hands. I installed the patch for the hand history fix then discovered that PS was not saving the HH files to the folder. I fixed this issue but now when i open PT an error comes up that says "could not find file C:\Program Files\Poker Tracker V2\hhdb.mdb" I click OK and it pops up a login box with data source as PTRACKHH and login name as admin and nothing in the password box. I click on the cancel and it displays a database error that says "Unable to connect to the hand history database. 100-No data was found to satisfy the request. Then it closes Pokertracker.

Please help me get pokertracker going

Are you using Vista? If so, are you running PT as administrator? Does Vista prompt you to cancel/allow PT to run? It should.

I turned off the user account control after ps and pt were working fine but i did not want to have to hit "allow" all the time. Everything worked fine for several months before and after I did this. I recently turned it back on and PS quit posting the HH to the folder. I discovered this today and turned it off again so now it is posting the HH but PT is not working. When I had the user account control set to on it was not asking to continue for either Pt or PS. I think the problem may have something to do with the HH patch i ran today.

Go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder. Click on the Compatibility Files button/link. Is the hhdb.mdb file in this folder? If it is, move it to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder.

the hhdb.mdb file is in the compatibility section. When i move it it says the source and destination are the same.

It tells you the file already exists?? I don't see how that's possible given you get the error telling you it's not found.

It won't let me move it from the compatibility section of c:\program files\poker tracker v2 to C:\program files\poker tracker v2. It says the source and destination are the same although it is in the folder, It is under the compatibility button. There are 4 large files in the compatibility area and 2 small files

I got pt to stay open and it has the data when i open my ring games. When i try to import hands from PS it comes up with a database error window that says

a database error has occurred

DBCode:-1 Error Text: Database transaction information not available

Call SetTrans or SetTransObject function.

This error message was written to the error file:C:\programfiles\pokertrackerv2\pterrorlog.txt. Please send this file and the hand history file that caused the error to support etc. I don't see the error file in this location


I cannot close the Poker tracker program After the above error It comes up with a ODBC Microsoft Access Driver Login Failed box which says Could not find file C:\Program Files\Poker Tracker V2\ptrack.mdb When I close this box the login box comes up with the database cancel ok and help buttons The login name has admin and password is blank

First, if there is an LDB file it means you have PT running, so you need to close it.

Then you need to click on the hhdb.mdb file, right-click on it and select "Copy" from the popup menu. Now go to the real c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder and right-click into that folder and select "Paste" from the menu.

You are also going to need to do this same thing with the ptrack.mdb file. The fact that these files are in the comp. files folder means you haven't been running PT as administrator all the time in the past.

I closed pokertracker and the ldb files are still there. I copied and was able to move the file but it put both files back in the compatibility list One was listed as a copy. It may have something to do with windows ODBC data source administrator as I also got an error regarding this failure also The error message is listed in the post above.
