We noticed that you are accessing email using non-secure settings in your email software.
We would like to ensure that your AT&T Yahoo! Member ID, password, and email messages are transmitted securely between your mail software (such as Outlook or Outlook Express) and the AT&T Yahoo! Mail servers. In order to meet this need, please enable SSL via the instructions that are available on the Help site.
Since multiple email notifications have already been sent out about this, we request that you please make the necessary changes immediately. Remember, you need to make these changes if you want to continue to send/receive email using a mail client.
Thank you for your cooperation.
I'm fairly certain that it has to do with accessing the POP3 server when I import tournament summaries. However, if I check the SSL box in the POP3 e-mail setup and click "Test," I get the following error message: "Successfully connected to the mail server but the server certificate could not be validated."
Then when I go to import a summary, I click "Check POP3 e-mail" and first get the following message: "The server security certificate could not be validated, are you sure you want to continue?" After clicking "yes" I get the following message: "There are no hand history transcripts or tournament summaries on your mail server."
I get that message immediately without it scanning each of the messages. Plus I know there is a summary there because I requested one before I tried testing this, and if I go back and uncheck the SSL box in the POP3 setup it imports the summary just fine.
Right now this isn't a problem. I just leave the SSL box unchecked and things work as they have for years. But the e-mail from my ISP is an annoyance, and, more importantly, they may actually follow through on their threat of denying access from unsecure connections, in which case not being able to use SSL with PT2 will be a problem.
I'm on Windows XP and I'm running PT2 with the latest patch.
