PT won't run after patch install

So I install the patch some 30 minutes ago and try to run PT2, nothing happens.

I retry it a couple of times and still nothing, the process is not even showing in the task manager.

I tried rebooting, uninstalling PT and reinstalling it, tried downloading PT3 with postgres, nothing seems to work. PT3 wont run either.

PS: I'm on windows vista, if it helps.

Are you running as administrator? Right-click on the PT2 desktop icon and select 'run as administrator'.

Does Vista prompt you to cancel/allow PT to run?

Hello,

I went to properties, shortcut, advanced, and enabled run as administrator.
If I go to compatibility tab, the checkbox is greyed out.

This didn't help, I don't understand why it would be greyed out if I logged in as administrator to windows...

The shortcut on the desktop hasn't changed anyway since I installed the patch, why would this become an issue now?

Being an administrator on your computer is not the same as running the program as administrator.

Please right-click on the PT desktop icon and select 'run as administrator' as I asked. Does Vista prompt you to cancel/allow PT to run? If it does, does the program then open?

Also when I try to run it, it doesn't prompt me to do anything. It just changes the mouse shape to the "working" shape and then goes back to normal and nothing happens.

You said you want to the Properties window and the box was grayed out. That's not what I said to do. There is no "box" in the popup menu, there are just options to select.

Right-click on the PT icon - what options display in the popup menu? Is 'run as administrator' one of them? If not, then do you have the UAC turned off?

You never said anything about what it was doing when you right-clicked on the PT icon, all you kept talking about was the box on the properties window and running it again which is not what I was asking you to do.
