Bluffing

Postby squashplayer » Sun Jan 31, 2021 10:01 am

Is there a way to calculate the outcome of river calling (which will give a good indication of whether hero's bluff catching is generally +EV)? Simply filtering won't do the trick as the key metrics are the pot size before the call and the size of the call. Also, is there any stat or metric that indicates whether a villain is generally "bluffy"? Won at showdown won't do as this incorporates passive play from villain (ie calling down) rather than purely active play in the hand. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Something like that would require at least an estimation of villains range which isn't a filter/statistic that can be built with PokerTracker 4. With regards to your second question you could possibly use 'River AF' and/or River AFq' and you can view the definitions of those via the 'Configure -> Statistics' menu option in PokerTracker 4. There are also accompanying LeakTracker videos for those statistics which can be viewed here & here.
