All In EV for Side Pots

Postby GRRreatWhite » Sat Feb 06, 2021 9:57 pm

Can somebody please explain why all in EV cannot be calculated on side pots?

I read some articles on multi way pots and a bias being created if somebody was all in on a different street. I understand this.

However if 2 other players go all in on the turn for example for a massive side pot the all in EV can be calculated on that pot no? Really frustrating because if Hero is a massive favorite to win on turn and the side pot is substantial that results are seriously skewed.

Am I missing something here?

Net adjusted results are calculated on hands where all of the involved players are all-in on the same street. If you have a hand where you think it should be calculated but isn't, please attach it to a Support Ticket so that we can take a look.

just played a 3way hand where crippled player goes all-in preflop with 0.63bb left, me and the other guy go all-in on the flop with 10bb effective stack, I'm a 72% favorite on the flop, but only 30% preflop, don't understand why my resulting exptected EV is negative...

PokerTracker 4 does not calculate adjusted equity in any hand like the one you described where there was further action on another street after an all-in as it introduces a bias in the results. In a case like this your adjusted equity is not negative as it just matches the actual result of the hand and it's only positive/negative when it deviates from the actual result:
