Improving PC performance for PT4

Postby Alexkidd103 » Sat Feb 20, 2021 11:38 am

Im want to upgrade computer to make pt4 work faster when loading reports. It sometimes takes a while.
I have a ryzen 5 3600, an M2 SSD drive and 32 gb of 3000 mhz.

When i go to performance taskmanger to try to see where the pc is bottlenecking im surrpised to see that RAM doesnt go over 10 gb, SSD doesnt go over 2% and CPu doesnt go over 20%, not any of its cores, why this happens? if it still working whyh its not maxing out some resource that is stopping it from " finishign" the job? What should improve to make it work faster?

Your setup is fine but unfortunately I don't have access to a suite of different hardware configurations for testing purposes. There may be PostgreSQL limitations and performance depends on other factors including the size of your database and some reports take longer to load than others (depending on how much data they have to show). If you think a report is taking too long to load then you can enable logging, reproduce this problem and then send your log file to us in a Support Ticket so we can see more information about your setup, your PostgreSQL install, what's going on in the background and how long things are taking. You can access the 'Logs' folder with the log file by clicking 'File --> Open User Data Folder' in the main PokerTracker 4 window and the file we need is the text file called 'PokerTracker4' or 'PokerTracker4.log' that is in that folder.
