changed pokertracker C:/ to E:/ (PSQL problem)

hello

i changed my location of your product to my E:/ disk.
now i can not connect to posgresql database.
how can i remove pokertracker and SQL to reinstall it proprelly. to get the setup of sql with pokertracker again

the 1st error message is
"Unable to login to database (postgres). Reason: authentication method 10 not supported"
i have the choice between configure default and cancel

i click configure default; and connect.
second error message is
"Unable to connect to this database. Please check the configuration."

i also cant recreate a database.
"Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT4_2021_03_13_163413
Reason: Unable to login to database (template1). Reason: authentication method 10 not supported "

any solution ?

Did you backup your data before making these changes? What exactly did you do? Simply uninstalling only PokerTracker 4 from C:\ and reinstalling to E:\ wouldn't have changed anything with regards to PostgreSQL (the program where PokerTracker 4 stores your poker data). The authentication method error indicates you have now installed PostgreSQL v13 and that isn't supported by PokerTracker 4 and that wouldn't have worked before so this suggests you have also changed PostgreSQL versions in addition to moving PokerTracker 4.

yes i installed postgresql13 because i had to change the disk
i have backup the data with pt4

i had to change my disk because he was at his end of his life

pokertracker wouldnt download PSQL, so i did it manually and it dont work

Uninstall PostgreSQL v13 as PokerTracker 4 will not work with that. Our current recommended version is v9.6 but if you were using a newer version before such as v10 or v11 then you should use that instead as you shouldn't restore a database backup created in a newer version of PostgreSQL into an older one although it's fine going the other way e.g. from older to newer.

i cant install the 9.6 version of postgresql. its keep saysing this messsage (i unistalled all component of V13 version before to try install the good one )

Try this:

1. Download PostgreSQL v9.6.21 from here.

2. Move the downloaded file to the root of C:\.

3. Click your Windows start button, type 'cmd' and when it appears right-mouse-button on 'Command Prompt' then select 'Run as administrator'.

If the command prompt is not on the root of C:\ then enter:

Code: Select all

cd\

4. When the command prompt is on C:\> run the following command:

postgresql-9.6.21-1-windows-x64.exe --install_runtimes 0

That should start the PostgreSQL installer and see if that works for you now.
