I was wondering about the equities of the hand replayer in PT4. With my opponents hand face down, what does it use to track equities? Does it just assume all live cards could be in their range?

Yes that's correct. If you want to calculate equities vs a more defined range you can click the 'Options' button and select 'Launch Equity Calculator'.
