PT4 change upload location of hands

Postby PsychoCheez » Mon Nov 27, 2023 6:44 pm

Hi, my hands are going into the C Drive which is running out of space. Is there a way I can get PT4 to store it's hands in a different drive? Would it be a case of exporting the hands, uninstalling, reinstalling, and then importing the hands?

It is the PostgreSQL folder which is taking up the most memory. I can see that the Processed Files are already being moved to the right drive. how can I get the PostgreSQL files to safely be uploaded to the D drive instead?

If you want to have your database(s) on another drive then you can uninstall PostgreSQL from C:\ and then reinstall it on D:\. We currently recommend using PostgreSQL v12 so if you are using an older version you can update to that:

Download PostgreSQL

Before uninstalling PostgreSQL you can backup your poker data and then restore it after reinstalling:

Guide: Backup & Restore

Please note that PostgreSQL requires free space on your disc drive when actioning a database backup and the free space required will need to be around the same size as the database being backed up. If you do not have this you will either need to free up the space required or have Windows use another location for temporary files to complete a backup:

Also bear in mind there will be a performance hit if you are moving your database from a SSD to a HDD.
