Annual maintenance - Why isn't it the same for everyone?

Good evening, I had an old pt3 license that unfortunately I didn't make it in time to upgrade to pt4.

So I bought PT4 again with full license, and it included the year of maintenance and support which is about to expire in February.

But why does this option expire for me, and I should theoretically have to pay for a renewal in order to do future updates, while I have some friends who just don't have the "holdem support and maintenance" item, and therefore don't have to renew the package, and can happily do all the updates all along without any further charges?
They definitely have the poker tracker 4 purchased long before me..... and they update it every time without any problems

Those who bought it in the past, are they advantaged? doesn't it really provide for the existence of the "support and maintenance package?" I looked at their profiles.... and there is just no such item in their products on the poker tracker page
