Bug

This appears to be a bug. I filtered for float bet opportunities but it also says I raised first in 100% of the time. If I'm not mistaken that should be zero.

Thanks - the filter appears to be working correctly in a hand report and I'm not sure what's causing that so I've forwarded the issue to the development team. Please note however that the 'Raise First In' statistic wouldn't necessarily be zero as you can have the opportunity to float the flop after raising first in and calling a 3Bet.

Yes you are correct of course and thanks for looking into it.

After checking this isn't a bug and these results are to be expected. When you have an opportunity to float then in most of those hands you wouldn't even have had an opportunity to RFI.

When you have a float opportunity the preflop aggressor is out of position and in a 2Bet pot the preflop aggressor must have 2Bet before you had the chance to open so that isn't an RFI opportunity for you.

If the preflop aggressor 3Bets from the blinds and you called the 3Bet in position then it's very likely you made the RFI.

Therefore there are very few RFI opportunities when you have a float opportunity and of those RFI opportunities you would have RFI most of the time in order to end up with a float opportunity which results in the percentages you are seeing with the float bet opportunity filter active.

Now I'm confused. My RFI % should be super low and not 100% right?

No. You have a low PFR and a high RFI because you are filtering for a float opportunity.

As an example lets say after applying the float opportunity you have a sample of 100 hands.

In 90 of those hands you have called a preflop 2Bet in position. As another player opened the action before you none of those 90 hands contribute to your RFI statistic. However all 90 hands contribute to your PFR statistic as you would have had an opportunity to put in a preflop raise (a 3Bet in this case) but did not.

In the other 10 hands you raised first in and called a 3Bet in position from a player in the blinds. All 10 of these hands count towards your RFI statistic and your PFR statistic.

As a result your PFR will be 10% (10/100) and your RFI statistic will 100% (10/10) on that sample of hands.

To achieve a low RFI while still having float opportunities would require a limping strategy e.g. open limping the BTN (an opportunity to RFI but not actually raising) and calling a 2Bet from the blinds.
