Backup of database problem

I have a problem making a backup of the dadabase. If I want to making the backup there must be defined a filename. But which file has to be defined, I have not done it. My opinion is that ist must be a new file.

If you already have existing backup files then when creating a new one you can give it a new unique name to create a new file but if you name it the same as an existing backup file then the older backup file will get replaced by the new one.
