PokerTracker

Hi,

Out of nowhere, my PokerStars hotkeys stopped working when PokerTracker 4 is running. I then updated PokerTracker 4 to the newest version, but the problem is still there.

I have tried:

Running both PokerStars and PokerTracker 4 as administrator
Running only PokerStars as administrator and PokerTracker 4 normally
Opening and setting up PokerTracker 4 first, then opening PokerStars

None of this fixed the issue.

The strange thing is that while I am playing, as soon as I quit PokerTracker 4, the PokerStars hotkeys instantly start working again. So the issue seems to be directly related to PokerTracker 4.

Unfortunately, this issue is caused by a bug in the latest PokerStars update.

The same behavior occurs with PokerTracker and every other HUD software on the market, so it is not specific to PokerTracker.

At this time, we are not aware of a workaround that allows the HUD to display properly while also keeping PokerStars hotkeys functional. Ultimately, PokerStars will need to correct the issue in a future update.

There is a workaround for this issue which works for me. If you start PokerStars as administrator via the following executable the hotkeys will work:

C:\Program Files (x86)\PokerStars\PokerStars.exe

Your PokerStars folder may have a slight different name depending on your region.

If PokerStars is started via the default executable below then the hotkeys will not work:

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files (x86)\PokerStars\PokerStarsUpdate.exe

I'm having the same issue, I tried the fix above, am I supposed to put it in "run" and then put

C:\Program Files (x86)\PokerStars\PokerStars.exe

I tried that and the other one and neither of them have worked.

I contacted Stars and they gave me some solutions to try and none of them have worked, so now they've stopped responding lmao. Never had this issue in 10+ years.

Just running that executable is not sufficient - you need to run it as an administrator which you can do by right clicking on PokerStars.exe and choosing 'Run as administrator'. If you normally open PokerStars from a desktop shortcut, that shortcut most likely points to PokerStarsUpdate.exe however you can create a new shortcut pointing directly to PokerStars.exe and set it to always run as administrator (right-click the shortcut > Properties > Compatibility > check "Run this program as an administrator").

I then ran it as administrator and the hotkeys still didn't work.

I tried doing that and then running C:\Program Files (x86)\PokerStars\PokerStars.exe but it's still not working
