Import hand history from pokerstars from email

Postby 1stTilt » Tue Sep 26, 2017 2:04 am

How do I Import hand history from pokerstars from email? I use gmail. I want to go over the last 200 tournaments I played before I purchased PT 4 and review my hands and tournaments.

First of all you need to let PokerTracker 4 know the username and password for that account via the "Configure -> Site & Import Options -> Accounts Configuration" page. Most email providers will also show which settings such as SSL and Port are needed on their website. Also as you are using your Gmail then please ensure you have configured it for POP access. You can also save the content of the email to a plain text file and import that into PokerTracker 4 using 'Get Hands From Disk'. If you save as a file make sure you save it as plain text (e.g. use Notepad) and that the format is exactly as the original (lines should not be split, etc).

My head hurts... I'm sure this all makes perfect sense but would you have like a step by step for each of these uhm... steps?

1. In PokerTracker 4 go to 'Configure -> Site & Import Options -> Accounts Configuration'.

2. In this section you need to fill in the 4 boxes:

User:
Password:
Server:
Port:

User and Password are your email address and password. Server and Port are specific to your email provider and you can get those from your email providers website. If more than one setting is listed you need to check for ones listed as POP settings. Some email providers also have POP access disabled by default so you will also need to enable that as well and again your email provider should have details on this on their website. Once everything is setup you can use the 'Test' button on the 'Configure -> Site & Import Options -> Accounts Configuration' page to see if PokerTracker 4 can connect.

3. With that setup you can import hands from email using 'Play Poker -> Get Hands From Email'.

4. If you need further assistance please open a Support Ticket and let us know where you are having trouble and what email provider this is for.

Hi its old, but did help me.

Still i need support now:

When i press "import via email" i can see the message from pokerstars, i can select it and press "import selected mails". After a very short time its finished, but my history in pt4 isnt refreshed, the hands from day before are still missing.

What is my mistake?

What exactly did you request from PokerStars? Are they actually hand history files when you look at the text in your emails? If you have the hand histories but they are not in English then they will not import into PokerTracker 4. If PokerStars have sent you an audit file or tournament summary files via email then those do not contain individual hand histories.

What happened when you imported? PokerTracker 4 reports the number of hands that get imported so if it reported hands being imported they will be available to view in your reports. Make sure that you don't have any filters set that would prevent this data from appearing in PokerTracker 4. If the hands are not being imported you can try also try saving the content of the email to a plain text file and import that using 'Play Poker -> Get Hands From Disk'. If you save as a file make sure you save it as plain text (e.g. use Notepad) and that the format is exactly as the original (lines should not be split, etc). If you have any further trouble please attach that text file to a Support Ticket along with a screenshot of your entire PokerTracker 4 report window where you are expecting to see that data (if the hands were reported as being imported).

From "Pokerstars Support" etc.

when i press "Mark all" and "Import Selected" it last like 2 seconds but i see no Hands importing at "import status" in the bottom left of PT4.

Please turn on 'Enable Logging' in PokerTracker 4 via 'Configure -> Options' and then restart PokerTracker 4. Next try and import the hands using 'Play Poker -> Get Hands From Email' and then attach your support bundle to a Support Ticket. The support bundle is created via the 'File -> Create Support Bundle' menu option in PokerTracker 4. Also include a screenshot of the contents of one of the PokerStars emails you are trying to import.
