PT4 error message

Postby uberslug » Fri Jan 10, 2020 3:07 pm

Getting the following error message

pt4 unable to login to database (postgres). reason: could not connect to server

problems seemed to start when I change TZ on my laptop then tried to do the same for pt4. Have reverted back to old TZ on both but havent had any luck so far.

I tried to restart postgres but get the following error message

When you re-installed PostgreSQL did you use the default port number (5432) and password (dbpass)?
If not, then you can edit the PokerTracker.cfg file to tell PT4 your new PostgreSQL server details.
To do that go to File > Open User Data Folder in the pt4 menu then close PT4 down.
In the window that opened go to the Config folder.
Open PokerTracker.cfg in Notepad.
Find the section labelled:
[Database]
..and update "Default.Postgres.Port" and "Default.Postgres.Password" to the values you used during the installation.
Save the file, then run PT4 again and you should now be able to create a new database.

Please note I am downloaded postgreSQL v9.6.16 as when I wanted to re install it I could not see 9.3 on the list to download.

also get this error message when I exit.

A different major version of PostgreSQL will not be able to read your old database. If you have a Backup you will be able to restore that, but otherwise you will either need to create a new database and re-import your hands, or (assuming that you didn't delete the old PostgreSQL data folder) you can re-install PostgreSQL 9.3 and that should be able to reconnect to your old database.

9.3 is available to download here (be sure to pick the correct version for your operating system).

I have downloaded 9.3 but to no avail. I receive this error message when trying to load up PT4 now
