PT4 database Backup

Postby Sido_Obc » Sun Jan 26, 2020 9:39 am

Hello,
So I installed PT4(backup created 7months ago) in a windows 10 and try to backup my data into it but I have "invalid TOC" as error.
The thing is the same backup I tried it already in another MAC and it works, so I don't think the backup file is corrupted or something like that.
Also while installing postgre I rename the database but also don't think it could affect it in something as it's a "new" database I'm trying to import.
The 3rd thing I assume the problem come from is that I imported the database from a MAC (and the second one I import into it when it works was a MAC too) So now trying it in windows maybe there is something in the TOC file that have to be changed to work in windows ?

Backup files are compatible between Windows and Mac OSX. If your backup is in a subfolder, network/cloud share folder or external drive please move it to C:\ and try restoring again.

If it's still restoring processed files you can safely cancel it and restart the restore with 'Processed Hands' unchecked and it should proceed much faster. Processed hands are not required for your database to restore - they are the original hand history files and are only needed should you ever need to re-import them again to a new database. You can also extract them from the backup file if you ever need to use them again.

it seems like it don't even try to load something directly INVALID TOC message
<PT4Backup Version="4.06" PTVersion="4, 15, 11, 0" Platform="MAC" PostgresVersion="9.3.5 on x86_64-apple-darwin">
<Database>
<FileName>Databases/DB0.backup</FileName>
<LocalName>New Sido 2018</LocalName>
<Name>PT4_2018_03_30_123443</Name>
<User>postgres</User>
<Password>dbpass</Password>
<Server>localhost</Server>
<Port>5432</Port>

this what's written in my TOC file + the processed hands.

A technician will assist you further in the support ticket you have also opened.
