Faster way of deleting/purging tournaments?

Postby luckylucky » Wed Apr 08, 2020 10:09 am

I have got a number of spin tournaments with incorrect information, either incorrect chip winnings, incorrect actual winnings or missing multipliers. I need to delete/purge tournaments from the database and then re-import them with the correct details from PokerStars, but the purge tournaments is painfully slow especially, as I can't select these tournaments in one group. If there was a way to order them by chips won and Multiplier like I can do in the results window it would be so much easier and more convenient. Is there any way I can do this or any other shortcut?

Please make sure you are saving and importing PokerStars tournament summaries as well as the hand histories. We recommend that you have Tournament Summaries set to save in PokerStars (Settings -> Playing History -> Tournament Summaries) and set to import into PT4 (in Configure -> Sites & Import Options -> PokerStars).

Guide: PokerStars Tournament Summaries

If you are not saving summaries and finish 3rd then there would be no way for PokerTracker 4 to know the random prizepool associated with the tournament so it will base it on 3 x buyin. If you have not been saving tournament summaries you can request a CSV playing audit from the PokerStars software. PokerTracker 4 will import that file and update your results information accordingly. To manually import that file when you receive it select "Get Hands From Disk" after clicking "Play Poker".

It's not possible to add and sort by other statistics in the purge window but you can select multiple tournaments to purge by holding the CTRL key.

I'm a long time user of PT4 and PokerStars so there's no issue with the settings. As I'm in China and usually using a VPN I'm often getting micro-disconnects, so this some times messes up hand histories and/or tournament summaries. So I need to fix these errors often in order to have an accurate database. Lately I started using a new VPN, Astrill, which is working really good, but seems to interfere with PostgreSQL so it's compounding the existing problem.

I realise you can select multiple tournaments using the Ctrl key, but this is not at all practical when you have thousands of tournaments and you need to look all over the database to find them if you can't sort by other statistics. Even if i were to do this it would also greatly increase the chance of making a mistake and accidentally deleting tournaments.

Also. although sometimes it manages to update tournament details without the need to delete the tournament and re import it, sometimes it doesn't. Would be far easier if I could skip this deleting the tournament step.
For example one Flash spin and go has me marked as winnign 1200 chips, instead of 600 chips, it won't update this incorrect info even after reimporting the correct info from PokeRstars. I have to delete the tournament first in order to rectify the problem.

Unfortunately there is no other method I can suggest other than asking PokerStars for complete copies of your hands/tournament summaries and importing them into a new database.

Tournament results can be updated when new information is imported but chips won/lost are calculated from individual hands so they only way to fix that data would be to purge the hands and reimport them. If the total chips won/lost are not being imported correctly from a complete hand history file then please send that to us in a Support Ticket.
