Help with Database Backup problem

Postby danielrheck » Wed May 20, 2020 4:05 am

Hey guys, I'm new to PT4 and in online poker in general.

So, I started playing online about 2 months ago, don't have a big database (probably less than 10k hands) but still can't do the database backup. Tried 3 times already, 2 of them overnight, and it doesn't finish at all. I'm guessing there's something wrong because if this is the normal time, someone with a huge database would take a few days at least.

In the destination folder I can see the .zip getting bigger but in a veeeeeeery slow rithm.

Can you guys help me? Probably some config I guess...

(nothing wrong with the PC, 16gb ram, ssd, decent processor)

Thanks a lot

That shouldn't take very long - can you please try again but with 'User Data Files' disabled. Does it now complete quicker? If it's still slow try unchecking 'Processed Hands' also.

Thank you for the answer. Unchecking both worked, it finished in a few minutes.

Was this just a backup for safekeeping or will you be restoring to another computer? 'User Data Files' contains things like custom HUD profiles, custom statistics/reports e.t.c. so if you want to backup/transfer those also let us know. With regards to 'Processed Hands' they are not required for a database to restore - they are the original hand history files and are only needed should you ever need to re-import them again to a new database. You can also manually backup the 'Processed' folder if required:
