Is it still possible to recover my database

Postby Santru » Mon Jun 08, 2020 8:13 am

Hello,

I bought a new PC. Now I understand it would have been easiest way to transfer database by doing backup file and then recover it on new PC. Like in this guide:
https://www.pokertracker.com/guides/PT4 ... nd-restore

However situation is this: I transfered all my files from old PC to new PC but I didn't make any backup. When I downloaded PT4 to my new PC it made new empty database. But I still have that old PostgreSQL folder from my old PC (picture below).

Is it possible to recover my database from that?

You can try and recover that information by reinstalling PostgreSQL to that location. Note that you have to use the same major version (8.4, 9.3, 9.6 etc) of PostgreSQL that was used originally.

You can download and install PostgreSQL via the link in my previous reply:

https://www.enterprisedb.com/downloads/ ... -downloads

As I mentioned you will need to use the correct version if you are trying to recover your original data. There is also a guide for reinstalling PostgreSQL here.
