Exiting Tournements

Postby Paul Rushforth » Sun Jul 19, 2020 5:42 am

Hi All,
New here, so nop doubt will have lots of dumb noob questions.

Today's question:

Sometimes I jump onto a tournement to practice. At the moment, as I'm only starting out, and I like to try fit in a couple of volume sessions, but can only play for 90 minutes at a time due to family life. FOr this reason, I register for the little tournements, and play for as long as I can, but at some point I need to leave.

Is there are way of leaving without screwing up my stats? My BB/100 is looking ridiculous at the moment.

For example, I'm currently 7th of 206 in a tournement. 95BB. This will be a huge unrepresentative swing.

Should I just try bust out?

EDIT: I suppose the actual sensible answer to this is to play in cash games instead, right?

PokerTracker 4 will only import hands from your poker site up until the point you stop playing and there isn't a method to "leave without screwing up stats" if you quit a tournament early although you can purge specific tournaments from your database completely if you want:

Guide: Purging Sessions & Tournaments

Cash games would allow you to sit in/out/join/leave tables as required.
