PT2 to PT3

Postby ducklover » Sat May 10, 2008 4:17 pm

I couldn't find an answer to any of these, so if I just missed them please direct me.
A) You can pre-order PT3 now, but at what price(unknown still?)?
B) Do you only get the HUD if you pre-order? I saw that you don't get this if you're upgrading from PT2, so I'm just going to pay full price. (Which is answer to question A)
C) How do you transfer data from PT2 to PT3. Is it something simple, or do you have to import all the HHs again (I hope it's not the later).

$89.99 is the full retail price. If you are a current PT2/PAH owner then you will receive an upgrade discount.

I'm not sure that I understand this question. The PT3 Hud or PAHud? The PT3 Hud is part of the PokerTracker application therefore one purchase gets you PokerTracker 3 and the PT3 Hud. If you want the FREE version of PokerTracker Holdem v2 and PokerAce Hud you will need to purchase at the full retail value.

C) How do you transfer data from PT2 to PT3. Is it something simple, or do you have to import all the HHs again (I hope it's not the later).

If your PT2 database is a PostgreSQL database then in PT3 you can go Database->Convert->Convert PokerTracker 2 Database. Otherwise, you will need to reimport your hands. You can easily export your hands in PT2 via Utilities->Export Hands to File then manually import them into PT3. The PT3 import process is extremely fast, much much faster than PT2. I do not think this will be as bad as you think it will be. :)

I bought PT2+PAH in March-08. Therefore, which will be the discount for me?

Hi there

Ive also just downloaded the latest patch , but im only now trying to set it up .

I play on the ipoker network and save my processed hands on a external hardrive .

Ive gone to manual import and tried to to import from directory and selected the folder the PT2 hands are stored , I get unable to begin process as PT is configured to import into an outdated database .

I did the utilities / export hands to a seperate file and then tried to manually import , but got the same error message .

Any advice would be appreciated .

Have a look at the Purchase page - if you start buying it, it will show you how much you will have to pay (as long as you are registered here with the same details as you purchased with).

Are you running beta 11? (it will tell you in the PT3 title bar)
It sounds like you had a previous beta version installed before and are still using the same database..
You must create a new database to import into beta 11 (this change was in beta 10, so after any older beta than that..). See Database Management window.
You are directing manual import to the processed hands on your external drive, yes?

Yes .. downloaded it today after downloading a previous beta version much earlier .

Ive just exported HH ( ring hands ) using PT2 in utilities and saved them to a new folder in my external hard drive , i then tried to import these hands using PT3 in the manual import / import actions , but got the message as stated earlier .

Thanks for the quick reply .

As I said above, if you had a previous beta installed you will need to create a new database to work with the latest beta.
See the Database Management window. Create a new DB and set it to Active/Default. Go to manual import and make sure you're importing to Active DB here too.
